Invasive Species

At the time this piece was made, we were looking ahead to the 2024 presidential election while still healing from the trauma of the forces that brought on the rise of the red MAGA movement. Our reality often feels as though the small minded, fear filled belief systems of these cult followers are the true infiltrators of our cherished American democracy. Like their leader, they seem as cockroaches that lie in wait, ever present, with ideologies that seek to wash over the values that have held the stars and stripes together for over 200 years. What on earth do they envision on the other side of this invasion?

The tedious, repetitive method of this modified cross-stitch is employed as my way of contemplating and coping with this on-going threat.
