By a Thin Thread is a selected body of work that was accomplished during the years of the George W. Bush administration, and therefore, offers sharp focus on that time in our past. The remnants of the Bush era are still with us today. In this collection, images of war, conflict and unrest that ran through my psyche evolve and “re-apply” to convey struggles of larger implications for the future.
Ultimately, could it be that “The War” is really one of our own making? What are our personal assumptions about our “entitlements” as American citizens? And how do those assumptions ”sit” with the rest of the world? What are our personal responsibilities, and how does that jive with our role as citizens of planet earth?
Indeed, in this war, we still hang by a thin thread.
