Woven Union
On the Cabot Trail in Cape Brenton, Nova Scotia, we encountered “The Gaelic College” - dedicated to the preservation of traditional Gaelic culture. One of those traditions is the design of tartan plaids to represent Scottish clans. I wondered, what would a tartan plaid look like if it represented our family? Bill tends to see letters and numbers as colors, so I asked him to “translate” T-I-M-M-E-R-M-A-N and M-O-R-T-O-N into colors. The result is this plaid design. A few years ago, on a road trip such as this, Bill and I rediscovered the depth of our relationship. After the stress of raising our girls, and developing our careers, we have been surprised and grateful that love can once again be found at this stage of our lives. It reminds us to appreciate the distances we travel together and our experiences with each other. Too often, we take those most dear for granted.
