Old Glory II
Vintage US Flag
(woodwork – Tom Fink)

This flag was given to me with significant damage, but by someone who did not fully know how to dispose of this important American symbol. Once mended, the flag was broken into squares, then triangles and reassembled using traditional quilting techniques and patterning. Using this age-old technique to reimagine our most significant American symbol reflects the confusion of our times, the threat to our democracy and my attempt to put it all back together again.
