Q-uelled
Artist designed jacquard woven cloth, pieced/sewn

Throughout these recent years the character “Q” has emerged in common knowledge as a sinister symbol of radical forces within the American population. The dangerous notions of Q-anon followers were probably made most visible during the January 6th attack on the US Capitol building. This piece visually breaks up and transforms this single letter. The result obscures the legibility of “Q”, but the violence it now carries is still visually palpable.
